Welcome to Swattle
A concentrated non-profit software company working on development of operating systems, mobile, and web applications that strictly adhere to guidelines on minimalism, user-friendliness, and eco-friendliness.
Our products are always free and guaranteed to help in reducing the carbon footprint. We're perhaps the only software company aiming at providing efficient software by considering environmental impacts.
Our Values
Every company is defined by its core values. We, at Swattle coincidentally delineate ourselves with Apple's values. Our products are strictly built on top of these principles.
Accessibility
We believe that technology should be accessible to everyone as it is most powerful when it empowers everyone. Huge part of our codebase is open-sourced. Anyone can contribute or download for free.
Education
We believe that education is a fundamental right. Any student can mail our support team with their school/college mail and request an appointment for personal technical help. Also, get in-depth details on how our software works.
Environment
We believe that truly innovative products leave their mark on the world instead of the planet. Our products are built to last as long as humanly possible. Making without taking sounds impossible. But it’s our goal.
Inclusion and Diversity
We’re not all the same. And that’s our greatest strength. We draw on the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced, and how we think. Because to create products that serve everyone, we believe in including everyone.
Privacy
Privacy is a fundamental human right. At Swattle, it’s also one of our core values. We design products to protect your privacy and give you control over your information. It’s not always easy. But that’s the kind of innovation we believe in.
Transparency
Transparency is the first step towards accountability. It increases the cost of hiding the truth. More efficient interactivity exposes truths that used to be inexpensive to hide. We're transparent about how we operate.
Product Development Process
Our entire team consists of volunteers who put design at our forefront. Our idea is a result of careful study, observation, and the nature of the interaction between people and technology. We want to do distinctly in a space that we work. We aim at not jumping into the bandwagon but making things look and feel great.
Design done by being separated from the larger company
When a design team works on a new product, they're cut off from the rest of the Swattle business. The team is also removed from the traditional Swattle hierarchy at this point. They create their reporting structures and report directly to the executive team. This leaves them free to focus on design rather than day-to-day minutiae.
Documented development process
The new product information is given to the product development team when they begin work. It details every stage of the design process and it goes into elaborate detail. The idea is to define what stages the product creation team will go through, who'll be responsible for delivering the final product, who works on which stage and where they work and also when the product is expected to be completed.
Iteration is key
Like any good design company, the design process at Swattle is not over after development. In fact, Swattle iterates the design throughout the process. The product is built, it’s tested and reviewed, then the design team improves on it and it’s built all over again. These cycles take 4-6 weeks at a time and may be run many times over a product’s development lifecycle. We believe that the more you invest in design, the more likely you're to build incredible market changing products.
Want to work with us?
We're looking for highly motivated volunteers who're willing to get accustomed to our values and share our principles. Depending upon your commitment and work ethics, you'll also get a chance to be pushed onto the core team. On failing to contribute for a long time, you'll be revoked of your volunteership.
Mail us your resume and the position you want to fill in. After shortlisting, we'll contact you and select based on a telephonic interview followed by an online interview.
Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming volume of applications we receive, we need some time to process all of them. We cannot reconsider applications for the next six months after they've been rejected.
